I received this letter in the mail this week from the centre where my brother lives. It speaks for itself. VVC to REceive New X-Ray Machine "If you are walking through the centre in January or February, you will notice some construction happening around the x-ray room. ( The centre) has purchased a new x-ray machine to better serve the residents of the centre. The current machine was installed in the centre in the early 1970s and is approximately 40 years old. The new machine will be able to provide better images, while making it easier for the residents to have x-rays done. Some of the features on the new machine are: * Lowering table: Gives the residents greater ease to get on and off of the table. It is easier on staff, and safer for everyone to access. * Floating table top: Easier, quicker and more accurate to position a patient. * Lower tube settings: Allows the tube to be moved lower to improve x-rays when taken while sitting in a chair or standing. * Automatic exposure control: Sensors adjust to give a more consistent x-ray, which should make for fewer repeats.
